Racing Toy Engages Kids in Active Play

Turn on Race Along Chuck and the truck bursts to life, doing wheelies and exclaiming "yippee" and "vroom vroom." The truck begs you to put it in game mode, which is easily accomplished by pressing the cab lights. Raising the truck's dump bed or placing an object in it also activates the interactive features. Parents will appreciate that the truck also includes an on/off switch for quiet play.

The included instructions give brief descriptions of each game, but it will take a while for younger children to figure out exactly what Chuck wants to do next so that they can play along.

The truck's back-heavy design makes it easy to do wheelies, but its shallow dump bed can only hold small toys. During testing, the bed's design kept toys inside, even during Chuck's sometimes hectic racing maneuvers.

Truck Works Best on Hard Surfaces

The truck's game mode works best on hard surfaces with plenty of unobstructed room to maneuver. When tested in small spaces, the truck crashed frequently, but not hard enough to damage furniture.

While the truck has sturdy, large wheels, it is not an all-terrain vehicle. During testing, this truck got stuck on grass, lost power on hills, and tripped up on uneven sidewalks.

This toy comes with batteries pre-installed, letting kids start racing as soon as it comes out of the box.
